Built between the 14th and 18th centuries, the "Old Inn" on the village square of Simplon Dorf was restored between 1992 and 1995 by the "Ecomuseum Simplon" foundation.
The former Sust, as the actual centre of the Ecomuseum, now houses a museum on the history of transit traffic over the Simplon and its impact on the region. Visitors get to know Stockalper, Napoleon, miners of the Simplon tunnel and the daredevil Geo Chavez. The rural life that dominated the southern Simplon in alternation with the pulsating traffic is staged, as is the small-town ambience of Brig a century ago.
Guided Tours: Available upon request. All information can be found on the Ecomuseum's website.
