I wonder how the muleteers with their heavily loaded mules managed to cross the Aegina? On the way from Ulrichen to Ladstafel, Nufenen- or Griesspass nestled in the wild and romantic nature of the Aegina Valley, hikers today find the small but fine suspension bridge for easy crossing of the river. From here, the valley widens and the view opens up into the impressive valley basin, which is crowned by the huge wind turbines of Europe's highest wind farm. The magnificent stone bridge at “Ladstafel” was built in 1761. For the way back we recommend the courses of PostAuto.

From Ulrichen, the trail first leads a short distance along the Nufenen pass road, the summer connection between the canton of Valais and the canton of Ticino. After the first few meters of altitude, the trail leaves the road and winds its way through the narrow valley towards Kitt, where the hiker already comes across the suspension bridge over the Aegina mountain stream. The Aegina is crossed twice up to Ladstafel. Here the hiker decides whether to return to his starting point by post bus or whether to continue his hike to the Nufenen- or Griespass.
