Gärsthorn

From the Salwald restaurant, climb up via the Sättle to Alpe Brischeru. Alternatively, you can also choose the route via Horumatte. At the last huts of Brischeru, the path branches off to the left and leads up to Chiematte and on to Gärsthalte. You have now left the tree line behind you and the path is marked blue and white from Brischeru (mountain hiking trail). Follow the trail markings across the grassy meadows to the cross at "Gämscherlibiel". From there, the path becomes increasingly stony and climbs steadily up to the summit cross. The panorama from the top makes up for every drop of sweat.

The descent follows the same route. Alternatively, you can descend from Alpe Brischeru via Horumatte to the Salwald restaurant. The path leads past the chapel on the Brischeru and is well signposted.

The hike can of course also be started in Mund (busstop). The walking time is then extended by approx. 2:15 hours.
