The old Stockalper Trail leads through the beech forest in about 40 minutes to the area of the legendary gold mine of Gondo. Romans, Stockalper and speculators were in search of the yellow metal. Their traces take us from the first discovery of gold to a gallery of the gold mine. Mallet and chisel are waiting for the discoverers to strike a piece of the coveted ore for themselves. Above the gold mills, the way back leads to the gold-mining village of Gondo.
