The Brig-Glis municipal police concentrate primarily on combating crime by day and by night, maintaining peace and order and controlling stationary and moving traffic. It is also responsible for the management of the paid parking spaces, the observance of the opening hours for restaurants and the punishment of violations of the police regulations. The secretariat of the municipal police also provides administrative support to the fire and administrative police.
The operational area of the Brig-Glis municipal police includes the municipality of Brig-Glis as well as Ried-Brig and Termen. In addition, on-call and night duties are carried out together with the Naters municipal police.
