The AGO is an association for astro-amateurs from the Upper Valais. The aim is to establish friendly and scientific relations. The AGO promotes the observing activities as well as the dissemination of knowledge about astronomy and related fields of knowledge of its members. Furthermore, astronomy enthusiasts shall be addressed and enthused at public observing evenings and special celestial events.

Old Barracks

The Alte Kaserne is a rest area on the Simplon road. It also houses an exhibition on the history of transport on the Simplon. Admission is free.
